Best use cases for the Twister Island model

The Twister Island model is basically the exact same as the wall mounted twister model. The island Variant features a 600 CFM airflow capacity is ideally suited for moderate to standard cooking styles. This unit strikes a harmonious balance between suction power and quiet operation, with the ability to accommodate up to 60,000 BTU from less powerful gas cooktops. This duct size is specifically designed for use with induction and electric cooktops.

Additionally, the Twister model offers the option of a 750 CFM blower when paired with an 8" duct size. This configuration facilitates quieter operation and compatibility with more robust gas ranges, accommodating up to 75,000 BTU in total. Utilizing the Twister with an 8" duct enhances ventilation efficiency, rendering the range hood suitable for more intensive cooking applications as well.

Differences between Twister Island and Wall Mounted Twister?

The distinctions between these two units are minimal. Technically, they are identical units designed for different installations. 

Wall Mounted units feature a flat backside constructed from galvanized steel. This material is more easily cut, facilitating back ventilation of the range hood, provided the unit's dimensions permit it. Additionally, the chimney covers for wall-mounted options are not enclosed on all sides; the rear side of the chimney covers is open to simplify the installation process when concealing ductwork. 

Island Mounted units maintain the same shape and size on both the front and back to ensure optimal coverage over the island cooktop, as there is no wall support for smoke and steam to rise against. Furthermore, the chimney covers are constructed from stainless steel on all four sides, providing a completely enclosed view of the ductwork from all angles.
